Grammar Drop–in Centre
The Grammar Drop-in Centre is a programme made up of seminars that have been specially designed to enhance students’ understanding of English grammar and to solve any related problems.
The seminars have two parts: During the first part, a comprehensive presentation of basic grammatical categories and how they function in texts will take place. In this way, students will be able to understand how grammar works in practice as opposed to theory. Following the presentation, students will be asked to demonstrate the function of the categories they have been taught through a variety of interactive and communicative team activities.
In the second part of the seminar, students will have the chance to discuss their own grammar-related questions in class and work on solving them with their fellow classmates.
Writing Workshop
The purpose of the Writing Workshop is to focus on the conventions and peculiarities of writing in English and to allow students to feel comfortable with their written work by practicing with a wide range of text genres. The workshop is designed for learners of English who are experiencing difficulties writing texts or for those who are required to write in English for professional purposes. The seminar offers two directions:
A: Essay problem solving
B: Writing for professional purposes
Both options focus on the structures of various text genres in English and allow students to practice writing as much as possible through weekly assignments and student-teacher consultations. The first course option is intended for students who are experiencing difficulties writing essays required for exam classes, whereas the second option has been designed for those who need to write in English in their work and would like to familiarise themselves with writing emails, professional letters, advertisements etc.

- Basic principles of genre analysis
- Internal structure of various text genres
- Grammatical and pragmatic aspects of texts

Exam Strategies Workshop
The workshops focusing on exam strategies are aimed at all our students attending certification classes. Their purpose is to familiarize students with the examination requirements and the tactics they should follow in each section of the test. They consist of three main sections (Reading – Writing – Speaking & Listening), which include:
Reading: Presentation and practice of various reading/comprehension skills such as focused (scanning) and global reading (skimming), identifying tone and purpose of a text, recognizing main ideas and supporting details, presentation of text organization features, etc. Writing: Introduction to various types of written exam tasks, recognition of elements in formal and informal written language, exercises in developing argumentation, grammar, and vocabulary exercises, etc. Speaking: Practice in language used for social purposes (interactional and social language), presentation of activities aiming at exchanging ideas, expression and justification of opinions, decision-making through dialogue/negotiation, etc. Listening: Use of authentic materials to identify the main idea (gist) and details (listening for detail) of an auditory text, recognition of the speaker’s attitude and opinions, familiarization with oral speech structures (phrasal verbs, idioms, etc.)
In addition to the three main sections, special attention is given to time management skills and anxiety management so that our students can perform at their best on exam day.
Budding Writers – Writing workshop for senior classes (Development and improvement of language expression)
A seminar-workshop for all our young writers! The aim of Budding Writers is to develop and enhance the written expression of students attending senior classes. The workshop includes activities in various forms of written language, placing particular emphasis on creative writing Students are introduced to basic forms of written language (letters, stories, essays, etc.) through authentic texts and cultivate their expression through both individual and group work. Additionally, children engage in dramatization techniques and learn how to bring their written words to life!

Story time! – A workshop for young readers
The Story Time workshop provides young learners with the unique opportunity to experience the magical world of books from an early age and to develop their imagination and critical thinking. Classes will focus on reading and discussing all-time classics, while pupils will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities, such as making crafts based on their favourite books. Specially designed for our early learners, this workshop will also bring the world of books to life through drama and puppet shows.
Language and Culture seminars for adults
Language and Culture seminars are designed for all of you who wish to experience a true immersive learning encounter. Focused on various aspects of English culture (literature, art, cuisine, etc.), participants learn to use the language they want to learn through interactive activities, visits to exhibitions and museums, cooking classes, and more. Learning comes to life both within and outside the school framework, with the teacher becoming a companion on a unique journey of language discovery!

Speak up! – Communication English
The objective of the Speak Up! programme is to focus on the characteristics and peculiarities of spoken English, as well as to provide targeted practice on a wide range of topics. This aims to make the student feel comfortable at speaking English. The Speak Up! programme is designed for individuals who need to speak English, whether for personal or professional reasons, and although they have taken English lessons in the past, they feel lacking in the ability to communicate orally. The seminar offers two directions:
A: Language enhancement
B: Spoken English for professional purposes
Both options focus on the features of spoken English and provide students with the opportunity to practice speaking as much as possible, enabling them to speak the language more naturally. In particular, the study option for spoken English for professional purposes has been designed for students who wish to use English for professional reasons, such as for negotiations, professional presentations or public speaking.
